Amazon quietly drops price of its PlayStation 5 Slim Console two months after its official release

Just two months ago, Amazon introduced the lightest, sleekest version of the PlayStation 5 yet in the “Slim” console.

And you can now pick up the gaming device for its lowest ever RRP at six per cent off, bringing its usual of $799.95 price down to $749.

The PS5 console unleashes “new gaming possibilities that you never anticipated”, the website explains.

“Experience lightning fast loading with an ultra-high speed SSD, deeper immersion with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio, and an all-new generation of incredible PlayStation games.”

For the uninitiated, the Slim version has all the same graphics and features of the original PS5 packed into a 30 per cent lighter in volume console.

You can customise the cover panels as well so the gaming device is totally individual.

There is an ability to play a back catalogue of supported PS4 games on the console so you don’t have to completely replace all your favourite games.

The pack comes with a wireless controller, a one terabyte drive and a pre-installed game called Astro’s Playroom.

A vertical stand that helps to keep your console upright is sold separately.

“Very happy with this PS5. Reasonably priced and delivered promptly,” one Amazon customer commented about the Slim console.

“This console is just amazing. You get everything from the original PS5, except it’s 30 per cent smaller! You even get 200GB more than the previous PS5,” said another.

“You get one terabyte which is awesome! Other reviews say it’s loud but I will tell you I’ve played many games pushing the PS5 to its limit and I haven’t heard the fan once.”
