The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur has made an outrageous pledge if he wins this year’s Gold Logie — he will get his fellow nominees’ initials tattooed on his body.

Emdur, 59, who has enjoyed a stellar 40-year career on Aussie TV, said he would get the new ink on his backside.

“I’m so confident I won’t win, I’ll happily get all the nominees’ name initials tattooed on my a*** on the show (The Morning Show) on Monday (if I do take home the gong),” Emdur told News.com.au on Thursday.

This year, Emdur is up against Tony Armstrong, Andy Lee, Sonia Kruger, Robert Irwin, Julia Morris, and Asher Keddie for the highly coveted award.

Larry famously started his career as a copy boy at The Sydney Morning Herald and then, aged 19, moved to the TV screen and began presenting the overnight news on Seven.

Emdur went on to have successful stints on Wheel of Fortune, The Price Is Right, and filling in for Hey Hey It’s Saturday host Daryl Somers.

Nowadays, Emdur hosts The Morning Show and The Chase Australia, both signature shows on Seven.

Larry has been playful as he campaigns for the Gold Logie this year, enjoying himself in the lead-up to TV’s night of nights.

“I’ve never been busier, and I’ve never been happier … I’m just playing my own game, having fun with it, taking the mickey out of it,” he recently told The Nightly.

Larry is known as one of the nicest guys in the TV industry and offered insight into what motived him.

“Now, my late dad always said to me, ‘Just be nice to everyone, it’s easier than anything else you’ll ever do’.

“That’s stuck with me, and sometimes it’s hard in this business, there can be conflict and disagreements, but I like to think that with most people that I’ve interacted with and know in this business, that I’ve been a reasonable person.”
