Woman’s desperate Airtasker act to catch ‘cheating’ boyfriend before Valentine’s Day

Ever wondered about the desperate lengths you would go to catch your partner in a lie? From snooping on their phone to cross-checking stories with their friends, there are ways to follow your gut feeling and find out the truth.

One Sydney resident has gone above and beyond in her search for answers, offering up hundreds of dollars to a stranger willing to help catch her boyfriend cheating.

Angelina M* listed the role on Airtasker, hoping someone would help with a stake-out mission before Monday for $350.

“I need someone to drive me and a friend to Five Dock and sit in the car with us for a few hours so I can try and catch my cheating boyfriend,” she wrote.

And she has had plenty of takers, with at least 30 people flocking to offer their services.

“Millions of Aussies use Airtasker every day for tasks such as cleaning and gardening, but this task by Angelina* is definitely not one we see every day,” Airtasker founder and CEO Tim Fund said.

“While it’s an unfortunate situation, we’re glad that she finds comfort in the Airtasker community and has turned to the taskers for support.

“It’s clear to see from the bids on all of these Valentine’s Day posts that taskers are willing to go above and beyond to help Aussies act on their love, find gifts or a cheating boyfriend for their customers.”

Angelina is not alone in getting crafty to catch a potentially shady partner being unfaithful.

Chrissy, a mum-of-two from the UK, last year revealed in a viral TikTok how to set up a glitter trap in a partner’s car to expose their infidelity.

The clip shows her hiding a sprinkle of pink glitter behind the vanity mirror of the passenger seat’s sun shade.

Her theory is a girl will look in that mirror at some point and “glitter doesn’t lie”.

If your partner is loyal, you will not find any traces of glitter on the passenger seat.

But if they are cheating, there will likely be glitter around.

Meanwhile, influencer Tabitha Mae claimed she made a fake Instagram account to see if her boyfriend would engage and used a fake number generator on another occasion.
