A woman is fighting for life and a man is left injured after their black Honda collided with a supervised learner driver in an SUV in Sydney’s northwest.
The Honda and the SUV were both travelling in the same direction on Richmond Rd at Marayong, heading towards Blacktown, when they crashed about 9.40pm on Monday.
After the cars collided, the sedan hit a large gum tree, while the SUV came to rest on the opposite side of the four-lane road about 50m away.

“Initial inquiries indicate the SUV may have been clipped by the sedan,” NSW Police said.
The female passenger of the Honda sustained critical head injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital, and the male driver was taken to the same hospital with internal injuries, police said.
The young female learner driver and the supervising male family member were not injured.
Richmond Rd was closed in both directions for several hours between Breakfast Rd and Love St, but has since reopened, according to Live Traffic NSW.
Investigations into exactly how the crash happened are ongoing.
