Woman allegedly stalked and threatened by man with knife at UNSW campus

A woman was allegedly stalked and threatened with sexual assault by a man with a knife while she was at work at a university campus in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

She was uninjured and called police following the incident at a university on High St in Kensington about 6.20am on Wednesday.

The University of NSW is located at the site.

A crime scene was established and police later arrested a 30-year-old man and allegedly seized a knife on Mewland St in Bondi Junction at 1.25pm.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with threat inflict aggravated bodily harm on victim with intention to have sex intercourse, robbery armed with offensive weapon, common assault, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, aggravated break and enter with intention — armed, and destroy or damage property.

He was refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Thursday.
