Wheel of Fortune premature celebration has Sajak flustered

A Wheel of Fortune contestant’s incorrect guess on a puzzle had the show’s host Pat Sajak shouting, “No! No! No No! No!”

On the episode that aired Monday, contestant Rufus Cumberlander buzzed in for the toss-up puzzle, which read, “_ _N’_ _ _K A_ _Y,” by saying, “Don’t Look Away.”

The other contestants, Luidgi Altidor and Cynthia King, were quick to celebrate, with Altidor fist-bumping Cumberlander and King clapping heartily, while Sajak tells them “No! No! No No! No!.. It’s not correct!”

As the 77-year-old host tried to get their attention, time ran out for them to solve the puzzle and the buzzer went off, which was the exact moment when they realized they were a bit premature with their celebration.

With the correct answer revealed as “CAN’T LOOK AWAY,” the contestants and some members of the audience collectively shouted, “Oh!”

“Everybody’s congratulating everybody,” Sajak told the audience, before joking, “And, we get to keep the money!

“It was nice of you to congratulate him,” he added.

King ended up winning Monday night’s show, taking home $19,390.

All three contestants had previously appeared on the show and returned as part of its fan-favourites week.

While the audience sounded more sympathetic to the trio, online viewers were not quite so kind online.

“Man, I love Pat Sajak. The dude’s been doing this forever, but sometimes you can just see he’s had enough of the nonsense,” one user on X, formerly Twitter, chirped.

“No one listens anymore,” another person wrote on the social media site.

Sajak is finishing his final season on Wheel, which will wrap up Season 41 on June 7.

Ryan Seacrest will take over in September with Vanna White returning on the show.
