A Victorian man is fighting for his life in hospital after his Fijian holiday turned into a nightmare.
Clayton Brett was in Lautoka in Fiji when he presented at a hospital with stab wounds.

The Altona man then caught an infection, which led to septic shock.
“It is a very difficult situation for our family at the moment,” Clayton’s father Terry Brett told 7NEWS.
What happened to the 43-year-old is a mystery.
His family only realised the construction worker was in trouble when he didn’t fly home.
They then called around to hospitals in the area.
When they learned of his condition, Terry and Clayton’s mother Jenny caught the next flight over.
“The worry was, for us, that if we didn’t get him home then we possibly wouldn’t get him home,” Terry said.
Clayton arrived home on Friday night — the cost of doing so is eye-watering.
The Medevac flight alone was $145,000.
“We scrounged around the financial side of it for the Medevac with help from friends,” Terry said.
Including medical costs, the total is up to more than $200,000.
Clayton is now at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, but his family remains extremely concerned about his condition.
He remains in an induced coma and may stay that way for weeks.
A GoFundMe campaign has so far raised just over $20,000 for the family.
“Any person that goes overseas and doesn’t have travel insurance is silly,” Terry said.
