Vet dishes on the baby names he will never give to his kids

Gone are the days of giving your dog a typical pet name like Spot, Lucky or Rex.

These days, pet owners will often give their cats and dogs “human” monikers.

So much so, a vet has now spilled the baby names he would never give to his kids — because he will always be reminded of his furry patients.

Ben, a vet surgeon from the UK, has shared an amusing list of the seven names he has vetoed: Millie, Milo, Barney, Bella, Reggie, Poppy and Oscar.

“These are the baby names I ruled out for my kids because in my head they are for pets,” Ben said in a video.

“Nothing wrong with any of these names — I just can’t unhear them as dog and cat names.”

After spending years working with animals, Ben began compiling a list of names he wanted to avoid.

“I’m a vet and because so many of my furry patients have these names, they went straight on the ‘no’ list of baby names for my kids,” he said.

“Milo for me will forever be a cat name to me.”

His video has been viewed more than 16,500 times, and many agree with his list.

“Reggie is so true — why are all Frenchies called ‘Reggie’?” one said, laughing.

Another shared: “Every time I go to a park, someone is always shouting out my children’s names.”

One revealed: “Omg finally someone gets that Milo is a pet name. Whenever I meet someone named Milo, all I can think of is my cat with the same name.”

Another added: “I have a daughter called Bella but I agree, I’ve heard more dogs called Bella than humans.”
