Analysts were discussing the competition as dozens were on hand to watch it all play out live.
But during the commentary, the camera pans to the audience behind them where a man could be seen leaning into the boy standing in front of him and biting the boy’s ear.
The boy seemed unfazed by the nip, more interested in the men talking about the game, until he sees the camera aimed at him.
The boy smiles and waves as does the biter, who pulls back and also gives the camera a grin.
The clip was shared on social media and people were disgusted, with many calling the man a “pedophile” and the bite he inflicted on the boy “abuse.”
“WTH is this? They need to find this PED0 and lock him up,” X user @TaraBull, who shared the original video that has more than 33 million views, wrote.

Another wrote, “Concerned with the amount of people saying it’s OK if it’s his dad,” to which @TaraBull replied, “Very concerning.”
The South Yorkshire Police have confirmed they received reports of the footage and are “reviewing the content.”
“[On] Thursday 25 April at 9:20 p.m., we received a call to inform us of a video circulating on social media of a man and a boy at the Winter Gardens in Sheffield,” police said in a statement to GB News.
“We are aware of the footage and officers will be reviewing the content,” the statement added. “We would encourage the public not to speculate about the footage and the circumstances surrounding the content.”
A spokesperson for the World Snooker Tour confirmed they are also aware of the incident, which is “now a police matter.”
