Two people stabbed after crash in Kogarah, in Sydney’s south

Two people were stabbed following a crash in Sydney’s south, with their alleged attacker still on the run five days after the incident.

The pair, a 28-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, were driving along President Ave, Kogarah when another vehicle collided with their car about 3.40pm Wednesday, police said.

“The 28-year-old man got out of his car and was talking with the other driver, when the unknown male assaulted him, stabbing him multiple times, before stabbing the 22-year-old woman,” police said.

Officers were called to Lachal Ave and arrived to find the 28-year-old with stab wounds to his back and armpit and the woman with a laceration to her right hand.

Paramedics treated the pair, who were both taken to St George Hospital in stable conditions.

The woman has since been discharged, while the man was expected to undergo surgery last week.

Police said the alleged attacker was described as wearing a black hooded jacket and having a red beard.

Police are appealing for information about the incident and ask anyone with dashcam or mobile phone video to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
