Trump news today: Trump attacks ‘Biden crime family’ after initially extending well wishes to Hunter Biden over guilty verdict

Republicans are preparing for Trump to be in prison when he accepts nomination

Donald Trump’s campaign has attacked the “Biden crime family” following the conviction of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden on three felony gun charges on Tuesday, issuing a statement that initially wished the defendant well “in his recovery and legal affairs” before the line was nixed.

“This trial has been nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family,” the statement read, before baselessly alleging that the Bidens “raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia and Ukraine.”

Meanwhile, Trump personally attacked the president in a new ad posted to his Truth Social platform in which he claims Biden “hates the military”, a clear attempt to firefight the revival of his own notorious “suckers and losers” comment about America’s fallen soldiers.

The ad compiles clips of disaffected veterans speaking to conservative media about their apparently negative experiences of interacting with Biden.

Earlier this week, Trump completed a virtual interview with Manhattan Criminal Court’s probation department, a mandatory requirement before he is sentenced on July 11 by New York judge Juan Merchan after being found guilty himself on all counts at his hush money trial last month.

Trump accused of demanding special treatment for probation interview

Questions are being asked over whether Trump received preferential treatment during his pre-sentencing probation interview on Monday.

The step is required and routine following any criminal conviction, but how Trump went about it was not.

He called in virtually, reportedly from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and had his attorney, Todd Blanche, join him on the call.

Trump campaign ‘nixed well wishes’ to Hunter Biden following guilty conviction

Following the president’s son conviction on three felony gun charges yesterday, the Trump team predictably branded the trial “nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family” and baselessly alleged that the Bidens “raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia and Ukraine.”

But an earlier draft of that statement toyed with a more sympathetic tone, wishing Hunter well “in his recovery and legal affairs” before the line was dropped, according to CNN.

Truth Social: Trump renews attack on Manhattan DA as House appearance announced

The convicted felon has once again lashed out at the “Corrupt Soros backed” Alvin Bragg and his “Zombie Case” after it was announced that the lawman would appear before the very Republican-sounding “House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government” on July 12, a day after Trump is sentenced and three days before he is nominated to be the GOP’s presidential candidate.

Here’s Alex Woodward on Bragg’s upcoming day at the circus.

Truth Social: Trump champions bitcoin after $12m Silicon Valley donor haul

Over on Trump’s social media swamp, he’s been suggesting bitcoin mining could be America’s “last line of defense” against China and Russia after (checks notes) meeting with San Francisco cryptocurrency investors last week and picking up a cool $12m in donations to his campaign.

It’s almost like this man has no principles whatsoever!

Here’s our report on Thursday’s private fundraiser with the Silicon Valley elite.

Trump Org says New Jersey golf club liquor license probe doesn’t apply to ex-president

Former president Donald Trump is not the holder of liquor licenses at his three New Jersey golf clubs, his company said Tuesday in response to an inquiry by the New Jersey attorney general’s office into whether his convictions in a New York case might affect those licenses.

The Trump Organization issued a statement Tuesday saying the former president is not an officer or director of any entity that holds a liquor license in New Jersey, or anywhere in the United States.

The state Attorney General’s office said Monday it is looking into whether Trump’s convictions on 34 counts in a trial involving hush money payments to a porn star and falsification of business records to hide it violates a prohibition on anyone convicted of a crime involving “moral turpitude” from holding a liquor license.

Giuliani poses for mugshot weeks after pleading not guilty in Arizona fake electors case

Rudy Giuliani appears in a new mugshot weeks after pleading not guilty to election interference charges in Arizona.

The former New York City mayor’s latest mugshot was released by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on Monday. Giuliani gave a wily smile as he went before the cameras. He had a previous mugshot taken in Georgia after being charged there, but appeared far less excited in that portrait.

In late May, Giuliani pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges for his alleged role in a 2020 election interference plot. Another 17 other people were also charged in connection to the case.
