Troubled TV star Andrew O’Keefe arrested for allegedly breaching bail

Former television star Andrew O’Keefe has been arrested for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.

It follows reports he survived a drug overdose while at a party in Sydney’s east over the weekend.

O’Keefe was filmed arguing with a camera operator on Monday before he was arrested.

The cameraman was filming O’Keefe leaving Rose Bay Police Station, where he regularly reports as part of his bail.

The man behind the camera is heard asking O’Keefe questions in the footage.

“Big weekend, mate?” he asks O’Keefe.

O’Keefe makes it clear he does not want to be followed and accuses the cameraman of running a red light to film him.

The camera operator continues to ask O’Keefe questions then as an argument between the pair escalates, he says, “ you’re a f****** degenerate mate, you’re a degenerate, that’s what you are.”

The 52-year-old former host was found guilty of domestic violence related assault, drug possession and breaching an apprehended violence order in January this year.

His attempt to have the conviction quashed was thrown out by a judge last week.

Referring to his rap sheet, the camera operator can be heard in the footage telling O’Keefe to “go and bash some women” as the father-of-thee gets in his car and drives away.

“You make a living out of dirty,” O’Keefe tells the cameraman, then suddenly parks the car and saying he’s going to make a complaint about the TV crew.

Soon after, the 52-year-old was filmed in the back of a police car.

NSW Police confirmed they had arrested a 52-year-old man for breaching bail.

“The man has been taken to Waverley Police Station where he is assisting police with inquiries,” police said.
