Three Polish nationals on temporary visits to Canada have been charged following distraction-style thefts in Hamilton, including against elderly victims.

Hamilton Police received reports of three distraction thefts at three retail stores on Thursday.

A trio of accomplices worked in a coordinated effort to distract the victims, ultimately stealing their purses, police allege. Two of the incidents involved victims over age 70.
Video evidence was critical in the investigation, police said, as it allegedly captured the trio engaging in the thefts and identified the vehicle used in their activities.
Peel Regional Police found the suspect vehicle in Mississauga and helped with the arrest of three suspects.
Search warrants were executed on two motel rooms in Peel Region and on the suspect vehicle.

Hamilton Police charged Krystian Dolinski, 42, Piotr Molda, 50, and Patryk Nosek, 28, with three counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of fraud under $5,000.
The accused are suspected of carrying out similar thefts in Ontario, police said. Several police services are investigating the individuals for comparable thefts within their respective jurisdictions.
All three have been detained in custody.
