A trio of accomplices worked in a coordinated effort to distract the victims, ultimately stealing their purses, police allege. Two of the incidents involved victims over age 70.

Video evidence was critical in the investigation, police said, as it allegedly captured the trio engaging in the thefts and identified the vehicle used in their activities.

Peel Regional Police found the suspect vehicle in Mississauga and helped with the arrest of three suspects.

Search warrants were executed on two motel rooms in Peel Region and on the suspect vehicle.
