Tragic end in search for young man missing after clubbing in Sydney

The body of a man who went missing in waters off Barangaroo, in central Sydney, has been found by police divers.

The 26-year-old man was last seen about 3.30am on Sunday near a licensed premises at Barangaroo.

About 6pm on Sunday, he was reported missing to police, and a major search was launched.

On Monday afternoon, NSW Police confirmed they had found a body, believed to have been that of the missing man.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Bungalow8, a club on King Street Wharf, confirmed the man was visiting their venue shortly before he disappeared.

“Our thoughts are with the individual’s family and loved ones during this time,” a spokesperson said.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
