Toronto man, woman hit with nearly two dozen drug-trafficking charges

A 34-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman face nearly a dozen combined charges related to a drug-trafficking investigation in Scarborough.

Toronto Police opened an investigation into alleged drug trafficking in the Teesdale Place-Pharmacy Ave. area on Jan. 4.

Police alleged that there were people trafficking various illegal drugs in the area.

Last Saturday at about 7 p.m., officers executed a search warrant and arrested a man and a woman at a residence in the area.

Police allege the male suspect was in possession of a loaded handgun and narcotics.

While executing the warrant, officers recovered two firearms, ammunition, drugs and other items.

Matthew McCarthy and Candace Evans, both of Toronto, were charged with a combined 23 offences.
