2 ACCUSED OF RENTAL FRAUD
A man and a woman have been charged with fraud after a rental dispute that landed on the lap of the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board.
Toronto Police said an apartment was rented between Sept. 1, 2021, and March 28, 2022, in the Maidstone St.-Rustic Rd. area of North York. They said a man and a woman paid first and last months’ rent before allegedly refusing to make further rental payments.
Police said the homeowners then sought help from the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board, to which the accused allegedly provided fraudulent information that prolonged the eviction process.

Robert Babos, 24, of Toronto, and Adrienn Kompusz, 23, of Mississauga, were arrested on Monday and charged with multiple counts of fraud over $5,000.
“Images have been released as investigators believe there may be more victims,” Const. Ashley Visser said.
