Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons went viral on Tuesday morning and not in a good way.
The 27-year-old lineman found himself in the middle of controversy after he berated local radio host Buck Reising during a live broadcast from Titans training camp for some things he allegedly said on social media.
Twenty-four hours later after some reflection, Simmons owned up to his actions and addressed his unhinged behavior.
“That’s not who I am, that’s not who I want to be seen as,” Simmons said, via Titans team reporter Jim Wyatt. “I talked to Buck, we have an understanding [of where each is coming from]. He has a job, I have a job. At the end of the day, I take full accountability of my actions … that’ll never happen again with me. I always talk about that switch, when to turn it on when to turn it off, I kind of still had it on coming off the field with the way practice went. Like I said, that’s not me, it’ll never happen again. To [the media], I apologize and not because it hit social media but because of who I am.”
