But before police arrived at the site of the incident, an 18-year-old man and his 19-year-old brother had gone to Blacktown Police Station with stab wounds.
The younger man died there.
The elder brother was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The group of teens got off a bus near the school and a fight took place at the bus stop before the two teens were stabbed, police allege.
Investigators are looking into the possibility the incident was linked to local gangs amid so-called “postcode wars” involving teens in parts of Western Sydney.
Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were charged over the incident and remain before the courts.
Three boys, two aged 15 and a 16-year-old, were later arrested after going to Blacktown Police Station about midnight on Wednesday, April 17.
They have each been charged with murder and cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.
They have all been refused bail to appear at a children’s court on Wednesday.
