Three people seriously injured in head-on crash at Colyton in Sydney’s west

A 12-year-old girl was among three people seriously injured in a head-on crash in Sydney’s west overnight.

A Suzuki Swift and Toyota Corolla collided head-on near the intersection of Carlisle Ave and Roper Rd at Colyton just after 10.30pm on Friday, police said.

Three people were trapped in the vehicles and had to be freed by emergency services.

Paramedics treated a 12-year-old girl for facial injuries and for leg and head injuries, before she was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.

The male driver was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition with internal injuries.

The female driver of the other vehicle suffered a broken leg and was also taken to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.

Carlisle Ave was closed in both directions between Roper Rd and Kippist Ave but has since reopened.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
