These unlucky 13 equity mutual funds lost upto 20% in the first half of 2024

Around 13 equity mutual funds gave negative returns in the first six months of 2024, data crunching by ETMutualFunds showed. There were around 583 equity schemes in the market in the said time period.

A further analysis of these 13 schemes showed that they were from the same category. These 13 equity schemes were from the international fund category.

Two equity schemes lost in double-digits. HSBC Brazil Fund, an international fund, lost the most of around 19.65% in the first six months of 2024. Mahindra Manulife Asia Pacific REITs FOF lost around 14.27% in the same time period.

Kotak International REIT FOF and Mirae Asset Global Electric & Autonomous Vehicles ETFs FoF lost around 8.71% and 8.11% respectively in the first six months of 2024.

The next three schemes in the list were from DSP Mutual Fund. DSP World Agriculture Fund, DSP World Energy Fund, and DSP World Mining Fund lost around 4.27%, 3.42%, and 1.39% respectively in the first half of 2024.

Mirae Asset Hang Seng TECH ETF FoF lost around 0.45% in the first half of 2024. ICICI Prudential Global Stable Equity Fund(FOF) gave a negative return of around 0.17% in the said time period.

Axis US Treasury Dynamic Bond ETF FoF and PGIM India Global Select Real Estate Securities FoF lost around 0.41% and 0.31% respectively.

ICICI Prudential Global Stable Equity Fund(FOF) offered a negative return of around 0.17% in the similar time horizon.

We considered all equity schemes that were there in the said time period. We considered all regular and growth options. We calculated returns from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024.
