It has been an undoubtedly tough year for Catherine, Princess of Wales as she undergoes cancer treatment.
And according to a new report, her preventative chemotherapy treatment is continuing for possibly many more months as she returns to work in a private setting with occasional public appearances.

Earlier this week, she was seen alongside her husband Prince William in a video congratulating British athletes competing in the recent Olympics, with the couple looking relaxed and happy.
This comes despite sources close to the couple claiming it has been the “toughest year of their lives together,” as per Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English.
The journalist said it was understood the chemotherapy will continue throughout and perhaps beyond the Northern Hemisphere summer, with the recovery after the treatment “ongoing for many months”.
At the moment the family is enjoying some downtime on holiday at Balmoral, but once the royals return to work in September, Kensington Palace is expected to provide guidance on what Kate’s workload may look like.
However, the insider has claimed that they are “not at that stage yet”.
“We are not there yet. When we last heard from her ahead of Trooping the Colour, she said her treatment was going on into the summer and that’s what’s happening,” the source said.
“It’s been a rough, rough time, a really difficult year for the entire family. And as she herself said, she is not out of the woods yet.
“The direction is positive (but) there will not be great change (in terms of her public profile) after Sunday night and no one is giving a timescale for her return.”
It comes after Kate shared a personal update on her recovery in June 2024.
The mother of three said she was making good progress but was “not out of the woods”.
“I am making good progress but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she wrote at the time.
The message was accompanied by a photo of Kate standing underneath a willow tree, looking up towards the sky.
Social media users were quick to point out the princess’ decision to pose under the tree may have been deliberate to convey a hopeful message, with a willow symbolising strength and resilience.
In her message, Kate said she had been “blown away” by thousands of kind messages from across the globe, which had made a world of difference to her and William.
“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal,” she said.
“Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”
Kate then attended Trooping the Colour, the military parade marking the official birthday celebration of King Charles that same month.
It was her first public appearance since December.
The princess spent two weeks in hospital in January after she underwent major abdominal surgery.
Two months later, she announced in a video message that tests had revealed the presence of cancer and she was receiving preventative chemotherapy.
Her illness has coincided with that of Charles, 75, who has also been undergoing treatment for cancer.
He returned to public duties in April, and has remained busy, although his daily commitments are being limited to minimise risks to his recovery.
