Sorry, wallflowers: The best dressed stars of the week wore bold statement looks that were designed to stand out. Between the annual Cannes Film Festival and various Hollywood premieres, the past week has been chockfull of star power—and celebrities leaned into A-list dressing with ensembles that quite literally shined: Crystals and sequins had a major presence on the step and repeats, as did sprightly colors.
At Cannes, glitz and glamour prevailed, with many opting for modern dresses as opposed to traditional ball gowns. Anya Taylor-Joy wore a sheer white Jacquemus dress embroidered with florals, complete with a giant sun hat. Naomi Campbell, meanwhile, made headlines when she re-wore a Chanel couture black sequin dress she first debuted on the runway in 1996. Lest we forget French singer Yseult, who nailed the New Look of Dior in the label’s signature cinched white jacket and black A-line skirt.
Outside of the film festival, there were plenty more stellar fashion moments. In New York City, Rihanna wore a red-hot Comme des Garçons look emblazoned with slogans and logos. (Only Riri could pull this off.) On Instagram, Beyoncé flexed a custom Lapointe look; The dress featured a halter neck and cutout, and she accessorized it with a bolo tie and western cowboy hat. (She’s in her country era, after all—giddy up!)
