“True love is eternal, that was clear to see between you and Steve,” a second wrote.

Another added: “This brought a tear to my eye … so beautiful ❤️ I know he is watching over you Terri and the kids!”

Their children Bindi, 26, and Robert, 20, both marked the day, with Bindi sharing a photo of her dad holding on to a crocodile.

“It is an honour to help continue the work you started. Your legacy lives on in our family, our team, Australia Zoo, Wildlife Warriors and The Crocodile Hunter Lodge. Hope to make you proud,” she captioned the photo.

Robert reshared the post on his Instagram stories before posting an unseen photo of Steve filming a crocodile up close while on a small boat.

Terri’s tribute follows another moving post from Father’s Day, in which she shared photos of Steve with their young son Robert, then two years old, both holding large native lizards.

“Steve had so much love for Robert and Bindi. He was the best dad. It warms my heart to see how much they always wanted to be just like him,” adding she knew Steve would be proud of the way his children have continued his conservation work.

Steve, who achieved global fame as The Crocodile Hunter, died when a string ray barb penetrated his chest while he was filming at The Great Barrier Reef in September 2006.

He was just 44 years old.

At the time, his daughter Bindi was six, and son Robert was just shy of his third birthday.

Steve’s legacy lives on through his family’s dedication to wildlife conservation.

His father Bob Irwin established the renowned Australia Zoo in Queensland in 1970, which was later handed down to Steve and Terri in 1992.

The Irwin family has also continued Steve’s mission through their popular wildlife reality series, Crikey! It’s the Irwins, which premiered in 2018 and is still airing on Animal Planet.

The series showcases the family’s ongoing commitment to wildlife preservation, honouring Steve Irwin’s profound impact on the field.

The couple’s love story is well-known by their millions of fans worldwide.

Terri met Steve back in 1991, while she was visiting Australia Zoo, where the daring bushman caught her eye.

Terri introduced herself and the couple quickly fell in love. They were engaged after just four months.

They married on June 4, 1992, in Terri’s US home state of Oregon, before making their life back in Australia.

She has remained single since Steve’s death.

Talking to US Weekly in May this year, Terri said she had already met the love of her life.

“I totally got my happily ever after,” Irwin said.

“I had the best marriage in the whole world for 14 years, and I’m very comfortable with the person I see in the mirror.

“So I’m OK to be on my own now. And I’m lonely for Steve, but I’m not a lonely person, so I’m very lucky.”
