Police issued a warning that people using the Ontario Disability Support Program were allegedly being targeted in robberies after officers revealed they had charged two young men and are hunting for another suspect.

Police said they responded to a robbery call on June 28 at about 12:21 p.m. in the Wellesley St. E.-Jarvis St. area.
Police said the victim had just received their ODSP benefits, a financial and employment assistance program for people with disabilities, on a prepaid Visa card. While accessing the funds at a gas station, a man allegedly approached the victim and told them that he had a weapon before taking the card.
“The victim demanded his card back and was unknowingly provided a different card that had no funds,” Const. Sinderela Chung said in a news release. “As the victim attempted to withdraw funds, the suspect watched the victim enter their PIN code.”

Chung said the victim was unable to receive cash from the other card before leaving the store. The suspect then allegedly used the victim’s PIN to withdraw money from the real one.
“Further investigation revealed that several individuals were (allegedly) targeting ODSP clients,” Chung said.
The 51 Division major crime unit executed two search warrants on Friday in the Wellesley-Parliament St. area and arrested two men, while also seizing items of “evidentiary value.”
Wadia Khaled, 18, of Toronto, and Fadel Yazbak, 18, of Mississauga, are each charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and disguise with intent.
Munir Al Mhmmed, 21, of Toronto, is also wanted on charges of robbery with an offensive weapon and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
