Teen whacked with $3870 fine for ‘unsafe’ act

A teenage girl has been fined almost $4000 fine after she was caught driving at 60km/h over the speed limit while making an “unsafe manoeuvre”, NSW Police said.

The 17-year-old girl, who was on a P1 provisional licence, was on the wrong side of the road while overtaking another vehicle — across double white dividing lines — on Campbell Hill Rd at Guildford in Sydney about 11.55am on Monday.

Police said the girl was driving at 110km/h when the area is sign-posted as 50km/h.

She was stopped and issued four infringement notices, totalling $3,870, for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h, not keeping left of a dividing line, overtaking when unsafe and not displaying P plates.
