Teen rushed to hospital after stabbing at Sydney football oval

A teenager has been charged over a stabbing incident in Sydney’s southwest.

About 8pm on Tuesday, emergency services were called to a carpark at Jack Brabham Reserve in Oran Park, after reports of an assault.

A 17-year-old boy was found with stab wounds to both his hands.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

He is set to undergo surgery on Wednesday morning.

7NEWS understands a number of teenagers were at the oval for football training at the time of the incident.

A 14-year-old boy was later arrested at Narellan Police Station about 1.30am on Wednesday.

He has been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He has been refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Wednesday.

Police will allege the boys are known to each other.
