A young man has been charged after a teenage girl was seriously injured last week in an alleged hit-and-run incident on Camp Rd at Greta, in the Hunter Valley region of NSW.
The 20-year-old man was allegedly doing burnouts when he lost control of the car and struck the 17-year-old girl last Thursday.
The teenage girl presented to a hospital in Metford about 9.30pm that night “with serious injuries, believed to be sustained in a crash,” NSW Police said after they were called to the hospital.

She was transferred to John Hunter Hospital with serious lower body injuries.
An investigation led police to arrest a 20-year-old man in Greta, who was then taken to Singleton Police Station and charged with seven different offences.
He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm (manner dangerous), negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and failing to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm.
He was faces four charges for driving unlicensed, unregistered, and uninsured, and for doing burnouts.
The 20-year-old man was refused bail to face Singleton Local Court on Thursday.
