Teen girl killed, four seriously injured in shocking crash in Wetherill Park in Western Sydney

A P-plate driver is dead and four of her passengers are severely injured after a horror crash in Western Sydney.

The 18-year-old woman lost control of the car and crashed into a tree on The Horsley Dr in Wetherill Park about 11.15pm Thursday.

The driver was killed instantly, and her passengers were rushed to Liverpool and Westmead Hospital.

On Friday, Sunrise reporter Liam Tapper was at Wetherill Park, explaining the incident.

“An 18-year-old female, red P-plate driver, she was driving along The Horsley Drive — it’s a very busy road through Western Sydney — around 11pm last night,” he said.

“She has collided with a tree. Now, she died instantly on scene, but she was driving with four passengers in her car.

‘They were all rushed to hospital, both to Westmead Hospital and Liverpool.”

“The male in the front passenger seat is in a critical condition this morning, all three in the back of the car have serious injuries.

“P-platers in NSW are only allowed to drive with one person in the car. She had four.”

Sixteen people have lost their lives in just 13 days on NSW roads, and police are urging drivers to take care.

A crime scene was established as officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
