Are you even friends if you don’t match your wardrobes? According to longtime BFFs Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid, the answer is no. Case in point: Last night in New York City, the pair stepped out to grab dinner at The Corner Store together, wearing hers-and-hers trench coats for the affair. (It’s not the first time the duo have worn similar outfits, of course: They’ve been dressing in sync for years.)
Swift and Hadid’s sleek outerwear pieces weren’t so much matchy-matchy as they were complementary. Hadid chose a shiny brown trench, pairing it with a white tee, layered necklaces, and classic khaki trousers. (We also love her butter yellow bag, a hot hue of the season.) Swift, meanwhile, opted for a green double-breasted trench by Vivienne Westwood—the perfect earthy shade paired against Hadid’s brown, as were Swift’s brown snakeskin boots (also by Westwood).
Only one question remains: Did Swift and Hadid link up ahead of dinner and plan out the looks to perfection? Or, perhaps they are such good friends, they can simply intuit what the other will wear ahead of time. Call it kindred dressing.
