It’s no secret that Susanna Reid is somewhat of a style icon amongst the morning telly breakfast stars. The 53-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter often serves up some enviable looks that have her fans rushing to snap up her latest Boden trousers or Mango dress.
The latest look we have fallen in love with, spotted this week on the former Strictly star, is a stunning deep cobalt blue dress from Phase Eight perfect for changeable summer weather.
To be precise, the exact dress is this Carey Check number from the high street brand, which costs £119 and is currently available online is sizes six to 20.
Sharing an image of herself in the gorgeous frock on her Instagram, the presenter wore her silky smooth bob in loose waves and captioned the picture: “BLUE WEDNESDAY!” with a blue love heart.
It’s no shock that fans of hers raced to the comments section to declare not only how beautiful the morning TV star is but the dress too, with one calling the look: “Sublime”.
Another shared how they thought this striking colour ‘really suited her’ and said: “Looking stunning and beautiful, Susanna, and that colour blue really suits you. Have a nice day, friend.”
One follower appeared to have seen her in this dress before and commended her for wearing the Phase Eight garment again and wrote: “Love that you’re re-wearing previous dresses now. Love this colour and you look fab in it.”
“My favourite colour, you looked lovely & think I might have to copy,” wrote another – us too.
The bold coloured dress is a great option for summer thanks to its short puff-sleeved, breezy textured check design. With the option of creating a v-neck or high neck thanks to the zip fastening at the front, the Phase Eight item creates a beautiful silhouette with its waist-cinching belt.
The midi length is incredibly elegant and lends itself easily to be dressed up with some wedges and jewellery or down with some ballet flats and a denim jacket or waistcoat.
Some shoppers have stated it’s the perfect ‘graduation’ dress for those attending to support their relatives, with one Phase Eight fan sharing their experience of purchasing the dress.
They said: “Absolutely thrilled with this dress, perfect for graduation in USA.”
Another commented: “Gorgeous colour and fabric and great style!”
While the majority of fashion fans loved this dress on Susanna, one commenter on Instagram felt the style of it was relatively ‘frumpy’, stating the bold colour was the ‘main thing’. They wrote: “Trouble with Phase Eight is they are quite frumpy. I never feel great in anything they make. The colour of this is the main thing and on TV sitting down behind a desk it’s fine. But the zip up, full skirt look is ageing on anyone. Sorry it’s not ticking my box.”
If you feel relate to this comment, there are a number of other cobalt blue midi dresses on the market that may take your fancy, for example this puff sleeve midaxi dress from Joanie Clothing, which costs £109 and less textured but features dramatic puff sleeves and a giant ric-rac detailed waistband. For added comfort, you get shirring at the back too – not to mention it has pockets.
For something a bit more subtle, M&S can always be counted on for epic styles and top quality and this Cotton Rich Puff Sleeve Midi Column Dress is a great day dress that has those all important puff sleeves (like Susanna’s did) and an easy regular on-trend column fit. Costing £39.50, shoppers have called it a ‘beautiful dress’. For Susanna’s gorgeous cobalt blue Phase Eight dress, however, go here.
