QPR 0-0 Bournemouth: Getting a rare start for Bournemouth with Dominic Solanke having been given the day off, Kieffer Moore has a header cleared off the line by QPR defender Morgan Fox after getting on the end of a cross to the far post from Marcus Tavernier.

Dan Burn speaks: “It was a special win,” says the Newcastle defender and lifelong fan in an interview with ITV. “I think there was a lot of build up to the game so to come through with a win and a clean sheet is great.
“It has been a long time since we’ve played this type of game. If you had asked the fans whether they would rather advance in the Champions League or beat Sunderland, I think they would pick beating Sunderland. It was a great day and the crowd really made it special.”

Coventry City 5-2 Oxford United: Matt Godden adds a fifth for the Championship side to put the game well beyond Oxford United.
Coventry City 4-2 Oxford United: Coventry looks set fair to advance to the fourth round of a competition they famously won in 1987 with just six minutes of their game against Oxford United remaining. Joel Latibeaudaire, Ben Sheaf, Kasey Palmer and Callum O’Hare have got the goals for the home side, while Mark Harris and Tyler Goodhram have chipped in for the visitors from League One.
AFC Wimbledon 1-2 Ipswich Town: With 10 minutes remaining at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, a Josh Davison own goal and Axel Tuanzebe strike either side of Jake Reeves’ penalty mean Championship side Ipswich are on course to avoid embarrassment against the 1988 FA Cup winners. Wimbledon are down to 10 men, having lost Harry Pell to a red card just before the hour mark.
Maidstone 1-0 Stevenage: The lowest ranked side left in the competition, Maidstone would have hoped for more glamourous third round opposition than League One outfit Stevenage but they currently lead their more exalted opposition courtesy of a Sam Corne penalty that was scored just before half-time. There are 18 minutes left to play at the Gallagher Stadium in Kent.
Millwall 1-3 Leicester City: Leicester have restored their two-goal cushion ast the Den, where Tom Cannon has scored in the 61st minute. It’s the 21-year-old’s third goal in two games.
Sunderland 0-2 Newcastle: The second half has just kicked off at the Stadium of Light, where Sunderland have been completely outclassed but remain in the game at just … oh dear.

Millwall 1-2 Leicester City: Duncan Watmore has pulled a goal back for Millwall against Leicester in their game at the Den. The runaway Championship table-toppers had been two up through goals from Cesare Casadei and Ricardo Pereira.
VAR: Video Assistant Referee technology is being used during this weekend’s FA Cup third round … but only up to a point. Its deployment is restricted to matches being played in Premier League grounds, which means the majority of games will not be scrutinised by the curtain-twitchers at Stockley Park.

FA Cup third round: Saturday clockwatch
With 19 third round matches scheduled today, the pick of them got under way earlier this afternoon at the Stadium of Light, where the first Tyne-Wear derby since 2016 is being played at a ferocious lick in front of a baying capacity crowd including 6,000 Geordies. Newcastle are having the better of proceedings and lead courtesy of a Dan Ballard own goal in a game that is one of five early kick-offs. We’ll have 10 more to focus on at three o’clock.
Maidstone, Eastleigh, Chesterfield and Aldershot Town are the only remaining non-League representatives in the competition and three of them are in action this afternoon. From the National League South, Maidstone are currently a goal up against Stevenage, while Eastleigh from the division above travel to Newport County. Making up the trio, National League leaders Chesterfield will fancy their chances away at Watford.
