Stephen Curry joins fellow Olympic stars in exclusive club

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors agreed to a one-year, $62.6M contract extension on Thursday.

With the deal, Curry joins Team USA teammates and fellow future Hall of Famers Kevin Durant and LeBron James in an exclusive club.

Once the Davidson product officially inks his extension with the Dubs, he’ll trail only King James in career on-court earnings.

James became the highest-earning player in NBA history when he signed a two-year, $97.1M contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022.

LBJ also signed a new two-year, $104M maximum contract with the Lakers in July, a deal that allowed him to be the first player in league history to cross the $500M mark in on-court earnings. It also pushed him past Michael Jordan’s career earnings just in his upcoming age-40 and 41 seasons alone.

Hall of Famers like Nate Thurmond, Ricky Barry and Wilt Chamberlain — as well as modern stars Draymond Green and Klay Thompson — are all Warriors legends. Curry is widely regarded as the best player in franchise history, however.

Now, the 36-year-old appears likely to spend his entire career in the Bay Area, further cementing his legacy.
