South Australian construction company Wake Concepts has appointed a liquidator and terminated about 100 staff members.
Wake Concepts specialised in the construction of wall and ceiling linings, with its major project at the time of liquidation being Adelaide’s Festival Tower in the CBD.
Insolvency firm Heard Phillips Lieberenz was appointed on September 19 with Anthony Phillips to manage the company’s liquidation.

In a statement, Phillip said Wake Concepts had ceased all operations and terminated all of its approximately 100 staff members.
Phillips said he would be working with the relevant unions to provide assistance to affected employees.
“The liquidator’s most urgent task is to help employees get paid, and at first instance that will be by facilitating claims in the government’s Fair Entitlements Guarantee Scheme (‘FEG’) and the Building Industry Redundancy Scheme (‘BIRST’),” Phillips said.
Four building companies in South Australia, including Wake Concepts, have entered administration so far this year.
The latest of those was Qattro, which has 200 residential homes left unfinished.
Wake Concepts was also involved in several other major construction projects in SA, including the Oval Hotel Adelaide, Sofitel Adelaide and the Hallett Cove Boardwalk.
The company has been contacted for comment.
