Six individuals face numerous firearm-related charges after gunshots were reported in Caledon early Friday.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers from their the Caledon detachment responded to a call for the sound of gunshots in the Madawaska and McCormack Rds. area shortly after 2 a.m.

Two people were arrested.
Later in the day, cops arrested several others from within a residence with help from members of their Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and Tactics and Rescue Unit.
Police allege several prohibited firearms and ammunition were subsequently seized.

A 25-year-old from Cambridge has been charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, and failing to comply with a release order.

Four others from Caledon, ranging in age from 20 to 23, and a 23-year old from Brampton have been charged with possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
Cops say the investigation is ongoing.
