The SIU said there was an “interaction” between police and two 19-year-olds outside of a residence on Shoreview Dr. before four officers discharged their firearms at the men, who were taken to hospital.
The SIU said one of the teens was pronounced dead at a hospital in Barrie, while the other suffered critical injuries and was transported to a hospital in Toronto. South Simcoe police said both teens suffered serious, life-threatening injuries during the incident.
