In a video shared to TikTok and posted to her Instagram page, Twain, 58, was captured in the midst of performing If You’re Not in It for Love and was so lost in the song that at one point instead of holding the mic to her mouth to sing, she started belting out her lyrics into a drumstick.
“Oh my God, that was hilarious,” she told the crowd following the slip-up.
Twain reposted a TikTok an audience member took at the concert to Instagram and captioned the clip: “I’m really glad somebody captured this moment, it’s made me laugh all over again 😂”
Twain’s legion of fans took to the comments to praise her authenticity for shrugging off the mistake.
“I was front row on May 26th and there was a moment when she accidentally covered her face with the ends of her wig while putting on her cowboy hat. It was funny to hear her laugh while singing because she couldn’t see. One of the backup dancers fixed her hair while another carried her to the front of the stage,” one person recounted. “I love that she can laugh at things like that because mistakes happen and it makes the individual show unique,” one fan wrote.

“Still so gorgeous and talented. Glad you’re still having fun and enjoying what you do!” another follower added, with a third writing, “The way you flawlessly continued this is amazing and purely in the moment.”
Meanwhile, others pointed out that the moment showed Twain was singing her shows live. “Proof she isn’t lip syncing,” one person wrote. “That shows she is really singing on live,” a second agreed.
Twain is currently the midst of her new Come On Over – All The Hits! residency in Las Vegas.
In an interview with Postmedia last year, the music icon said she’s grateful for her live shows. “I’m appreciating it more than I ever have before. There’s a lot of things to be grateful for, but I’m grateful to just be out there belting my lyrics and I’m enjoying the styling and the fashion more than ever. I’m like a kid in a candy store,” she said.

Twain also said she is comfortable with aging.
“I refuse to become less comfortable in my own skin as I am getting older,” she said. “I just would rather be happy with what I see in the mirror. It’s something I declared with myself. It’s probably why I’m having so much fun … I’m enjoying shaping my body more. It’s all about embracing who you are at this minute, and not getting bummed out about it every day. There are so many other things to get you down in the world. There are so many genuinely scary things going on in the world. One of them is not what I see in the mirror. I’m fine with what I see in the mirror every day. I’m really OK with it, and it’s a big relief … it feels like a whole stress is gone to not worry about the aesthetics of aging.”
