A second earthquake has hit New South Wales’ Hunter region in as many days.
The 4.7 magnitude event hit near Muswellbrook about 4.30pm on Saturday — close to the location of an earthquake of similar strength about 12pm the previous day.
Nearly 600 people had reported feeling Saturday’s earthquake with Geoscience Australia, compared to about 3000 on Friday.

It has not been determined if the latest event was an aftershock.
Geoscience Australia recorded the tremor as having a depth of 10km.
The quake on Friday damaged homes and businesses, caused power outages and forced some schools to evacuate.
It was described as the biggest for the region in the past 20 years.
NSW SES crews responded to 12 reports of minor infrastructure damage in Maitland and Muswellbrook, but said there was no major impact.
