Scooter rider killed in collision with car in North Ryde, Sydney

A scooter rider has been killed in a collision with a car in Sydney’s north.

The motorised scooter and car crashed at the intersection of Epping Rd and Lane Cove Rd, North Ryde, about 5am on Friday.

Paramedics performed CPR on the male scooter rider but he could not be saved and died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The male car driver was taken to Ryde Hospital for mandatory testing.

“An investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash,” NSW Police said.

“Officers from Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime (investigation) scene with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attending to examine the scene.”

All lanes on Lane Cove Rd have since been reopened as traffic returns to normal.
