Ryan Gosling performs I’m Just Ken at the 2024 Oscars

Ryan Gosling, aka Ken, has taken to the Oscars stage for the first time as a performer.

The Oscar-nominated actor, who brought Ken to life in the 2023 hit Barbie, gave the people what they wanted, performing his hit, I’m Just Ken.

Wearing a pink bedazzled suit, Gosling appeared alongside songwriter Mark Ronson and some of the other Kens from the movie, including Simu Liu and Ncuti Gatwa.

He opened the song while sitting in the audience, concealed with a cowboy hat, surrounded by co-star Margot Robbie, director Greta Gerwig and songwriter Billie Eilish — none of whom could keep a straight face.

He then progressed through the audience to the stage, where he joined Ronson and his fellow “Kens” for the musical number — at one point being lifted up among the Kens in between some Barbie cardboard cutouts.

At one point, Gosling even performed with Guns N Roses musician Slash on guitar.

Gosling later descended back to the crowd, throwing the microphone to Robbie, Gerwig and America Ferrera to sing part of the song.

Heading back toward the stage, he passed the mic to longtime friend and La La Land co-star Emma Stone.

Fans were quick to react online to the performance.

“Ryan Gosling kinda an icon for life,” one said.

“I know his inner child has been thriving because of this role,” a second said.

“Iconic performance of a lifetime,” added a third.

“Ryan Gosling starting I’m just Ken in the audience behind Margot Robbie who CANNOT stop laughing. Genius. I hope the kenergy never leaves Ryan Gosling,” another said.

Later, Billie Eilish, along with her brother Finneas O’Connell, won Best Song Oscar for What Was I Made For?, from the Barbie soundtrack.

On Friday, Gosling and Ronson were spotted ahead of the performance of I’m Just Ken, rehearsing for the “iconic” Oscars moment.

“Ryan was in great spirits, and he was a total pro,” a source told People.

“He was joking around and having a great time.”

It comes after I’m Just Ken took home the Critic Choice Award for Best Song in January.

Gosling became an instant meme at the time, and was apparently in shock over the win.

Gosling chose not to go to the stage to accept the award — instead, writers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt made the speech.

“Ryan Gosling, this is as much your award as ours,” Ronson said.

“You made the audience fall in love with this song with your matchless performance, so thank you.”
