The Duchess of Edinburgh was all smiles yesterday as she carried out a royal engagement in Kent but royal fans were left unimpressed with one key detail regarding her outfit.
Duchess Sophie the Domaine Evremond winery at Chalk Hill in Chilham.
The vineyard was founded in 2015 and launched in 2017 and claims it can make “high-quality premium sparkling wine”.
But apart from the prestigious vino, royal fans were eager to comment on the royal’s outfit.
Sophie sported a heritage grey suit by Vince which consisted of a double-breasted blazer (£695) and high-rise trousers (£520).
She paired the suit with a duck egg blue shirt, Jimmy Choo’s Ixia 80 pointed heels in garnet (£750) and Sophie Hasburg’s Minuit clutch in grey (£239).
For jewellery, she opted for Roxanne Assoulin’s mini Swank bracelet (£91) and Monica Vinader’s Friendship bracelet (£118).
But royal fans were not impressed with how baggy the duchess’s trousers were and took to social media to express their views.
One user wrote on Instagram: “Her trousers should be altered but overall it’s a polished look.”
Another one echoed: “This suit is another improvement – has a strong menswear feel. The sleek clutch and hairstyle look very chic. The trouser silhouette is not the most flattering – flat front slim straight legs or a wide leg for a more directional look might better suit the duchess.”
A third one said: “Too baggy and awful choice of accessories.”
While a fourth fan commented: “Her pants look too big. Baggy and sloppy looking.”
