Roger Taylor shares personal backstage Queen photo – ‘Brings the memories back’ | Music | Entertainment

Roger Taylor, who turns 75 later this month, has posted a throwback snap on his Instagram.

The black and white picture captured the handsome drummer with his trademark blonde locks over 40 years ago.

He captioned the photograph: “Backstage at the first ever rock concert at Milton Keynes Bowl – brings the memories flooding back!”

The rock star was referring to Queen’s Milton Keynes Bowl performance on June 5, 1982.

Captured on film, the iconic concert was one of four massive outdoor shows on the UK leg of Queen’s 1982 Hot Space Tour.

The scale of this grandiose production was underlined after plans for a Royal Albert Hall concert were abandoned due to fears the iconic domed ceiling would collapse under the weight of the lighting rig.

Check out the opening medley of Flash and The Hero, which Sir Brian May had penned for the 1980 Flash Gordon movie, the first of the band’s highly successful soundtrack work.
