Aussie TV star Robert Irwin has shared a tear-jerking tribute to his late father, Steve, after sending Bindi a very public birthday message on Wednesday.
Posting an emotional video to Instagram, the nature lover offered a glimpse into the day he was born as his late father escorted an excited Bindi, now 26, to the hospital to meet her baby brother.
“We’re goin’ to the hospital, you know why?” Steve asked Bindi. “Mummy just had a baby.”

“Really!” Bindi exclaimed.
“She’s had a little baby boy, and his name is Robert Clarence Irwin. And he’s only that big,” Steve said, gesturing to the size of his newborn.
An excited Bindi then trots to the hospital with her dad in hand and insists, “I’m more excited than Mummy and you!”
Reminding fans how inquisitive and precocious she was as a youngster, the now mother riffed with her parents about the gender and name of her hours-old brother.
“How do you know it’s a boy?” Did you check?” she asked.
“They’re not born with clothes on, Bindi,” their grandmother responded as Terri smiled warmly.
“I think by the way he is, I’ll call him Brian,” Bindi said.
“His name’s Robert,” Steve replied.
“But I’ll call him Brian for short,” she continued.
Cutting to the emotional father, Steve could be seen glassy-eyed as he rocked little Robert back and forth.
“It’s like the whole reason we were put on Earth is to do this,” he said. “That’s what it seems like.”
Continuing the joke started by his big sister, Robert, 20, captioned the post, “Happy birthday, Bindi … love, Brian.”
“Thank you, Brian. This is the best 😂💛,” she responded.
Long-time followers of the iconic family felt they were gifted a window into one of the most memorable days the foursome had ever experienced together.
“Gosh, I wished Steve could see them now,” one fan said.
“This is so wonderful. Man, your dad loved you all so beautifully. What a blessing to witness and to have him walk amongst us for some time. ❤️,” another commented.
Continuing their father’s legacy, both children have passionately pursued an education and defence of the animal kingdom.
Wildlife Warriors — formerly known as the Steve Irwin Conservation Foundation — was established in 2002 by the Irwin family and has been driven mainly by Terri, Bindi, and Robert since then.
The organisation wished Terri a happy 60th birthday on Friday, labelling her an “icon of wildlife conservation”.
