The outspoken actor-comedian was asked during a recent interview about the infamous slap Will Smith delivered to Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards and whether he spoke to his pal and Grown Ups co-star Rock after it happened.

“Will Smith is a t**t,” the Saturday Night Live alum told The Kyle & Jackie O Show. “Will Smith has been hiding the fact of who he really is and it was exposed that night that he’s really an a**hole.

“But it’s a deep, dark thing to do that in front of all those people and to a really great legendary comedian who’s literally the best comedian of our generation,” he said of Rock.

“You wouldn’t have this whole wave of comedy that came after if it wasn’t for Chris Rock,” the 60-year-old continued. “He’s kicked open the doors.”

Schneider said that as a then SAG-AFTRA union representative, he “wasn’t allowed to say anything at that time because we were part of the committee that’s supposed to punish (Smith).”

The Deuce Bigalow star now said of Smith: “He’s a liar, a complete, utter fraud. And it was exposed in that time.”

Schneider then took aim at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for not immediately tossing Smith from the awards ceremony. Smith stormed the Oscars stage to slap Rock after he had made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s lack of hair.

“Will is a douchebag,” Schneider declared of the Bad Boys star. “The thing is, that’s how politically correct the Academy is, that they were so cowardly. Because if I would have done that, they would have been hauled off to prison, but because they were so worried about being racist or whatever, they were like, ‘We can’t offend.’

“But the point is, violence is what it is,” he continued. “And whether the colour of your skin or your religion, it doesn’t matter if you commit a crime in front of other people, you get hauled out of there.”

Schneider shared that he reached out to Rock after the incident but his longtime pal “didn’t want to talk to anybody,” which he understood.

“It took him a while to get to where he could react to it because it was a lot,” Schneider explained.

“He’s a very sensitive, great guy and he’s literally a genius so just trying to figure out the right way at the right timing … because I would have said something,” he said. “I’m an idiot, I would have tried to kick back.”

Smith, who received the Best Actor award that night, resigned from the Academy, which also gave him a 10-year ban from any of its events following the assault on Rock.
