Rob Schneider has declared that cancel culture is “over” after he was given the hook in Saskatchewan following a comedy set that included jokes aimed at Justin Trudeau and material that was deemed “transphobic, misogynistic and anti-vax.”

The New York Post caught up with the Saturday Night Live alum over the weekend and asked Schneider, 60, what he thought about cancel culture. “It’s over,” he proudly claimed.
The Hot Chick star was performing a stand-up set at the Hospital of Regina Foundation’s Four Seasons Ball fundraiser earlier this month, but he was asked to leave the stage early after his material was deemed offensive by some of the attendees.
“Everyone in the room was groaning, saying, ‘What is going on?’ Like, whispering to themselves,” guest Tynan Allan told the CBC last week. “Not a single laugh at times. It was just very apparent how uncomfortable everyone felt and how unacceptable the things he was talking about were.”
According to people who were at the sold-out show, Schneider was roundly booed during his act, which was cut short.

“While we recognize that in a free and democratic society individuals are entitled to their views and opinions and that comedy is intended to be edgy, the content, positions and opinions expressed during Mr. Schneider’s set do not align with the values of our foundation and team,” the Hospitals of Regina Foundation said in a statement.
“We do not condone, accept, endorse or share Mr. Schneider’s positions, as expressed during his comedy set and acknowledge that in this instance the performance did not meet the expectations of our audience and our team.”
One attendee wrote on Reddit that Schneider’s gig began with jokes about former U.S. president Donald Trump’s recent conviction in his hush money trial. “He opened up with some pretty funny jokes about how Trump is a convicted felon and so America is a shit show compared to us. Those got laughs, obviously,” they shared.

But Schneider quickly ran afoul of the crowd with remarks aimed at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s response to COVID-19 and his assessment that the coronavirus pandemic was a “scam-demic.”
“He then moved to transphobia saying that ‘back in my day we liked our women without penises’ and told an anecdote about how he told his son, who is ‘bad at sports’ to say he is a girl to get a better chance,” they continued.
Another attendee called his performance “awkward as hell.”
“(He) went on about how ‘dumb’ women are in an audience that was about 50% women, made anti-trans, anti-science jokes. Had people walk out before the main event as well as some people complaining to management. Went on for about an hour before they shut him down and took him off stage with security escorting him out,” they wrote in an account posted to Reddit.

But it’s hard to imagine that organizers didn’t perceive that Schneider’s brand of comedy might be offensive to some. During an appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in December, Schneider delivered zingers aimed at transgenderism (“It’s only been a couple of years since we’ve learned that women could have d—s”) and said state’s offering slavery reparations was like “paying child support for a child you never had to a woman you never f—ed.”
He also told the audience that if he “had a dime for every gender, I would have 20 cents.”

According to Politico, the comedian also flopped at a 2023 networking event for Republican lawmakers with one senator walking out. The outlet reported that Schneider’s set was allegedly cut short after just 10 minutes.
Per Politico, Schneider’s routine was filled with “raunchy” jokes “aimed at Asian people,” including one about “Korean whorehouses.”
A rep for Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith told the website that she left because his wisecrack’s were “gross and vulgar.”
But Schneider denied he was pulled off the stage at AmericaFest early.
“I’m not changing my material or apologizing for my jokes to anybody,” he told TMZ. “Enough with this woke bulls—, America’s sick of it.”
Despite the controversy following his appearance in Regina, the Foundation revealed that event raised over $350,000 for medical facilities.

Last fall, Schneider made headlines across Canada when he cancelled a trip north of the border after Trudeau’s Liberals led a parliamentary tribute to a Nazi in the House of Commons.
“I cancelled my trip to Canada,” Schneider, whose father is Jewish, wrote on X. “Trudeau’s tyranny against peaceful trucker protesters seems insignificant (compared) to this despicable and outrageous act of honouring one of ADOLF HITLER’S NAZI SS Soldiers by the Canadian Parliament. No words …”

During an official visit from Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy in September, disgraced House Speaker Anthony Rota honoured 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunka, who he said “fought for Ukrainian independence against the Russians” during the Second World War.
But after North Bay’s Hunka received a thunderous tribute in the House it was revealed that he served as part of a voluntary unit that was under the command of the Nazis and was also known as the Waffen-SS Galicia Division or the SS 14th Waffen Division.
The invitation became an international embarrassment, with Russia using the blunder to legitimize its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Schneider was one of the many notable names lashing out at the gaffe. “Don’t you stupid f—ing Canadians know THIS ASS— fought for the NAZIS?” he wrote on X. “This guy fought for Hitler! … THEE Hitler!”
