Rihanna is the new face of the extremely popular modern classic Dior J’Adore fragrance.
As noted by WWD, Rihanna will replace Charlize Theron as the official face of the scent. Theron, who fronted countless campaigns for J’Adore over the past 20 years and made some truly iconic commercials for the scent, is now the French fashion house’s style and jewelry ambassador.
“Being the new face of J’Adore is both an honor and a mission,” Rih shared in a statement. “This scent that I have known and loved for so long means so much to women. I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”
The house of Dior is thrilled to have Rihanna join its ranks, of course. “The unusual talent, audacity, and captivating beauty of this absolute star are the ideal embodiment of dazzling, powerful Dior femininity that transcends generations,” shared Véronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior. “Her golden dream promises to be unique, reflecting a fragrance that is present for women and retains its radiance.”
J’Adore debuted in 1999 and was formulated by perfumer Calice Becker. It’s a floral fragrance built around jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang notes housed in an equally iconic teardrop-shaped bottle with a high, skinny neck wrapped in gold. J’Adore has been a bestseller for the house since its inception and the lineup now includes several flankers.
