Residents evacuated from waist-high waters in Western Sydney homes as water main bursts at Penrith

A burst water main on has flooded multiple homes in Western Sydney on Sunday.

Four Penrith residents have been evacuated from waist-high floodwaters by specialist rescue teams at the affected houses on Allard St in Penrith, near where the pipe burst on The Northern Rd.

Fire Rescue New South Wales were called just before 10.20am, and requested assistance from its water rescue teams.

No other residents are understood to be inside the flooded units, but FRNSW crews remain at the scene with two fire trucks, alongside NSW Police.

FRNSW told 7NEWS.com.au that the water now appears to be subsiding.

The Northern Rd is partially blocked, 7NEWS understands.
