The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Steven Adams to the Houston Rockets for Victor Oladipo and three second-round picks, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Wojnarowski further clarified that the Grizzlies will acquire two 2024 second-round picks and one 2025 second-round pick.
Adams was ruled out for the season back in October when he underwent season-ending knee surgery to his right posterior cruciate ligament after “non-operative rehabilitation did not resolve ongoing knee instability.”
According to Wojnarowski, the Grizzlies are making the trade to create more salary flexibility and draft assets around the 2024 off-season.
Adams will join a young and upcoming Rockets squad next season.
The Grizzlies are currently 13th in the Western Conference with a 18-29 record while the Rockets are 22-25 and sit one spot of outside of the play-in.
