King Charles reportedly did not reunite with his son Prince Harry during his whirlwind UK visit to avoid the “drama” the reunion would bring.
Speculation about if, when and where Harry might reunite with his father mounted ahead of Harry’s UK trip this week, prompting a spokesperson for the prince to quash talk of a meeting with a statement confirming there would be no reunion, because the King was too busy.

“It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program,” the spokesperson told The Mirror.
“The Duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
However, a new report claims the King’s hectic schedule was not the only reason for the distance.
“He doesn’t need the drama in his life,” a palace source told Daily Mail.
“Harry and Meghan have brought him, and the rest of the family, nothing but worries over the past few years.”
Harry, who has since departed the UK for Nigeria, was in London for a series of events to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, the international sporting event he founded in 2014 to give injured or sick military personnel and veterans the chance to compete, similar to the Paralympics.
On Wednesday, Harry attended a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the milestone, where he was seen visibly moved as he listened to the 2018 Team UK captain Michelle Turner discuss the profound impact the event has had on her family’s life.
Harry rose to his feet to lead a standing ovation after Turner thanked “Invictus for giving me my life back”.
There was plenty of support for the prince as crowds gathered outside to greet or catch a glimpse of him.
Harry’s uncle and aunt, his late mother Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, and sister, Lady Jane Fellowes were spotted in the second row of St Paul’s.
However, no royals were in attendance supporting Harry through the service, with the Duke’s wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex remaining in the US with their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
While Harry was at St Paul’s Cathedral, King Charles and Queen Camilla were just 3km down the road at Buckingham Palace.
They received guests at The Sovereign’s Garden Party.
The last time reunion with his father was in February after King Charles confirmed his cancer diagnosis, prompting Harry to fly to London from his home in Montecito in California to pay a quick visit.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the US in 2020 after stepping back as senior working royals.
Meghan will join Harry in Nigeria after the couple were invited by Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, the country’s highest-ranking military official.
They are expected to visit a school and meet injured service people at a military hospital during their visit.
On Saturday they will reportedly attend a training session for the organisation Nigeria: Unconquered and Meghan will co-host the event Women in Leadership with Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organisation.
