Raiders pass-rusher ‘exhausting every single resource’ to have career year

Raiders pass-rusher Maxx Crosby is coming of the best season of his five-year NFL career in which he registered a career-high 90 tackles and 14.5 sacks while also forcing two fumbles.

However, Crosby revealed after the season that he wasn’t even at full strength. The 26-year-old had surgeries on his knee and thumb in January.

“It’s been a hell of an offseason,” Crosby said, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. “So, it’s been a hell of a ride back.”

That’s exactly why Crosby believes the 2024 season can be his best yet.

“I was damn near limited every single day, the whole season in practice, and things like that,” Crosby added. “My one goal is to be the best in the world, pound for pound, and I talk about it, I’m about it, I live it every single day and whatever street I’ve got to travel to get to where I want to go, I’m going to do that. So I’m exhausting every single resource I possibly have to have the best season of my career.”

Crosby didn’t miss any time due to his injuries last season, playing in every game for the fifth straight year. If he put up the numbers he did while not fully healthy, there’s no saying what he can do healthy in 2024.

Part of why the three-time Pro Bowl has been so durable to start his NFL career is because of his personal offseason program, which consists of not taking any days off.

“You talk about fight camps [lasting] maybe three months, four months; I do it 365 [days],” Crosby stated. “So that’s why I feel like, at the end of the day, my consistency is what separates myself and it will only keep getting me better because I don’t leave any stone unturned.”

While Crosby is worth every penny of his $6 million raise, Las Vegas hasn’t had a ton of success as of late. Since 2019, the team has gone 39-44 with one playoff appearance.

However, there is reason why Crosby is one of just two Raiders still on the roster who played with the team in Oakland (left tackle Kolton Miller). It’s because he’s a difference maker, and this season should be no different.
