Radio star Lauren Phillips shares major personal news after being axed for Kyle and Jackie O

Radio star Lauren Phillips has shared her family’s baby joy as they celebrate Christmas.

The new arrival — a little girl for her brother Bo — comes after a difficult few months for the Melbourne-based KIIS FM personality, who was one half of the breakfast radio show Jase and Lauren.

Both stars lost their jobs, apparently to make way for Kyle Sandilands and Jackie “O” Henderson’s bumper $200 million deal to launch their show in Melbourne.

As part of a 10-year mega-deal, announced in November, the popular Kyle & Jackie O Show on KIIS FM will expand from its current Sydney market.

A month after learning that she would be without a job, Phillips has announced some happier news — the birth of baby Sienna to her brother Bo and sister-in-law Stephanie.

Phillips shared the news about her newborn niece in a sweet post on Instagram, calling the baby the “greatest Christmas gift”.

“Welcome to the world baby Sienna💖💖💖,” she said.

“So proud of @bophillips and our beautiful @stephbecket.

“Our hearts are absolutely bursting with love for your beautiful baby girl. Welcome to the gang kiddo.

“We’re going to have a lot of fun together 💖.”

In November, Phillips and Hawkins took to the KIIS airways after learning Kyle and Jackie O were taking their slot.

“Last night, we all received a phone call from management,” Hawkins revealed on air.

“The show will be finishing up at the end of 2023. Kyle & Jackie O will be taking over in 2024.”

A clearly emotional Phillips then chipped in.

“They’ll be syndicating their show from Sydney to (be) broadcast here in Melbourne,” she said.

“This is certainly not the way we wanted to bow out.

“We didn’t have a choice. We don’t want to say goodbye.”

Sandilands and Henderson said at the time they were looking forward to their show being broadcast in Melbourne.

“Love us or loathe us, Jackie and I will be continuing with our politically incorrect nonsense for a long, long time,” Sandilands said.
